Canvas Commons is a space in which educators can find course materials that have been developed by other sources and are perceived to be applicable to a wider audience. Users can find files, videos, pages, quizzes, assignments, modules, even entire courses that have been shared by other educators across the world. These materials can be added directly from Commons into a Canvas course space or downloaded to a computer and selectively added to a course.

Imagine you are teaching a course in which students will need to write a paper according to APA standards. Rather than putting together supplementary materials to ensure students properly understand the rules of APA, you could go to Commons and grab a module that breaks down APA style.

The Center for Teaching Innovation, in conjunction with educational partners at Cornell, will be providing educational support materials available through Commons. Searches within Commons are defaulted to show materials shared by Cornell University, but this filter can be removed to find materials from educators outside the Cornell community.

Commons can be reached via the button on the Global Navigation menu on the left. For general information about Canvas Commons, see the Canvas guide How do I use Commons?
