Perusall is a social annotation tool. It allows group annotation of texts, websites, videos, and podcasts. It offers:

  • auto-grading
  • access to a number of publisher texts (with student-paid fees) found in a searchable database
  • the ability for students to “upvote” peer annotations
  • support of Groups in Canvas (making it recommended for large course)

Please note: Due to copyright restrictions, Cornell University Library materials may not be uploaded to Perusall.

Visit Perusall’s Canvas Instructor Setup page for information on setting up assignments linked through Canvas and syncing grades.
