iClicker, a classroom response system supported by Cornell, offers an attendance tracking feature. The Attendance Management allows instructors to:
- Track daily student attendance.
- Require students to be present in class, not allowing check-in or responses from a remote location.
- No daily Attendance activity is required by the instructors – Students check in themselves.
- View reports of attendance in iClicker Cloud.
- Add Attendance points to your Canvas course Gradebook.
There are other options for attendance.
Please see our Comparison of Attendance Options: iClicker, Poll Everywhere, and Canvas page.

Instructor Set-up Attendance Management with iClicker Cloud:
- Follow the instructions provided by iClicker:
- Please contact the Center for Teaching Innovation with any questions or concerns.
Important Considerations:
- iClicker Attendance is geo-located, requiring students to be within a limited range of your classroom.
- Students check in using the iClicker Student app with their devices for daily attendance.
- If you use iClicker for in-class questions, students cannot bypass the geo-location setting and still respond to your activities.
- A report will show who is checked in and who was absent from that lecture.
- Please contact the Center for Teaching Innovation with any questions or concerns.
