Why are some student responses are not being recorded in Poll Everywhere?

Ask the student to be sure they are logging in to your activity with their Cornell NetID email address and their password, using the two-step login process for other Cornell logins.

Display Issues

All of my multiple-choice answers are not displayed properly on my activity.  How do I show them all on the screen?

There is an option to change the view of your question to auto-fit all choices:

  • Create a new or select an existing multiple-choice activity.
  • Click Visual settings in the top right corner of your screen.
  • Check the Auto-fit content box and click Done at the bottom of the page.

My activity does not display properly: the words are cut off or the activity is shifted partially off the screen.  How do I correct this?

There are two possible ways to correct this display issue:

  • Change the resolution to 1280 X 800 of the screen being displayed to the class.
  • Change the Scale of each screen to be the same: Setting the screen that is being displayed in the classroom to 150% is the preferred method.

Network Issues

Classroom Network issues: Sometimes, but not always, a few students cannot connect to the questions or cannot answer anything after the 1st question. What can they do?

There is no good answer to this issue.  The network in the classroom can be overwhelmed with everyone connecting to it with multiple devices for each student.  Please ask your students to turn off any device that they are not using during class, to allow others to connect.
