Canvas is an online space through which you can deliver course materials to and interact with your students. If you want to use Canvas for teaching remotely, you do not need to request a course space. Course spaces for Cornell courses are automatically created.
Follow the instructions on this page to access your Canvas course space, manage what areas are available to students, add content, and make the course available for use. You can:
- Access Canvas via the Canvas log-in page.
- Before getting started, make sure you have your Duo authentication device.
- Access specific courses from Courses in Global Navigation or via the course cards displayed in the Dashboard.
- Change profile and user settings within Canvas, including: language preferences, preferred email, and notification settings.
- Build content in Canvas using:
- Organize content within Canvas Modules or in separate areas of the course and manage Course Navigation links to get students to that content.
- Manually manage enrollments through People.
- Organize student into Groups.
- Change course settings including course name and availability dates.
- Publish your course content and publish your course.
